How does random text chat work?
Press start and BaseChat pairs you with someone online at random. You type, they type. When the chat ends, the next random match is one tap away.
Is random text chat anonymous?
Other people see the display name and photo you choose — not your email, phone number or location. Use a nickname and keep personal details out of the chat.
Can I switch from text to voice or video?
Yes. Once you are both comfortable you can move to a voice chat or a video chat. Nobody can turn your camera or microphone on but you.
Is random chat free?
Starting a random text chat is free. Coins are only used for optional extras such as gifts or longer video calls.
Is there an age limit?
Yes — BaseChat is for adults 18 and over. Accounts that break this rule are removed.
